n     Rods:  8 ½’-9’ saltwater fly rods for lines 7, 8.  10-weight rods are suggested for permit, a primary target species in this part of Belize.  Tarpon come in all sizes, from 5-20 lbs “babies” to adults well over 100 lbs.  We recommend an 11 or 12-weight for tarpon.  We strongly recommend fast action fly rods from Scott and Sage.  These are proven favorites that we’ve fished for years in the salt.

Andros South Bonefishing Lodge

Andros South is a first-class lodge in theBahamas' most famous bonefishing destination: Andros Island.  Located on the southern portion of the island, Andros South is isolated from the fishing traffic of the frequently-visited north and central parts of the island.  Bonefishing is guided by top-notch professional guides in modern, stealthy flats skiffs.  We fish both from the boat and on foot during the week, exploring the countless creeks and flats of this enormous bonefish habitat.

Andros South is primarily a bonefishing lodge.  Other species, including barracuda, permit, tarpon and snapper may be encountered on the flats, but our primary target will be bonefish, which range is size from one pound to more than ten pounds.  South Andros has a variety of bonefishing opportunities to match the interest and ability of any angler.  Beginners will enjoy fishing to large schools on white sand, while advanced anglers may stalk large fish in a variety of situations.

The lodge features air-conditioned single-occupancy rooms for each guest, offering unique privacy in a restful setting.  Fresh seafood highlights the delicious dinner menu and beer, wine and liquor are included in the lodging price.
